enthusiasm and love for life was a significant source of inspiration.
Joey Moss was a part of our Daytona family, and since his passing, we have been reflecting on our fondest memories with him. Throughout the years, we have been fortunate enough to work closely with Joey, and together, have raised close to $2 million for individuals with disabilities through events like Joey’s Home, Joey’s Golf Tournament, and Joey’s 50th Birthday Game Night. We witnessed first-hand his enormous impact and the hope he provided to other individuals with disabilities, that they too could succeed and be active members of the community. It is our goal to continue his legacy by vigorously advocating for the community that Joey held so close to his heart.
Looking back at our memories together bring smiles to our faces. We hope these memories can make you smile too!
Joey’s Home
Together with Joey Moss, the Edmonton Down Syndrome Society, and Winnifred Stewart Association, Daytona Homes and its trade partners built Joey’s Home to provide a safe, comfortable, and affordable environment for young people with developmental disabilities to live on their own, but still have the comfort of having someone available if needed as well as assisted-living for seniors.

Joey’s Home Golf Tournament
For 10 years, Daytona Homes held the Joey’s Home Golf Tournament that Joey often attended. It was a fundraising event that, over its duration, raised over $700,000 and was started to help raise funds for Joey’s Home later providing support to Winnifred Stewart Association for the Joey’s Home Trust. Today, the trust provides funds for current renovation needs as well as the groundwork for future building projects.
The golf tournament was always a great time, and something we looked forward to every year!

Joey’s 50th Birthday Game Night
To honour Joey’s 50th birthday, Daytona Homes partnered with the Edmonton Oilers as part of a joint contribution to Winnifred Stewart Association and the Edmonton Down Syndrome society. This fun night was all about Joey and included custom merchandise with Joey’s name and awesome giveaways. In addition, our CEO had the honour of presenting a cheque to the Edmonton Down Syndrome Society and Winnifred Stewart Association on Joey’s behalf!

Joey, thank you for capturing our hearts in Edmonton and beyond. We are incredibly proud to have you as part of the Daytona Homes family. You truly changed the lives of so many, and your infectious enthusiasm will forever be missed.
